I've been told that most (perhaps all?) of the independent judges roaming through the show selected RC4 Wireless as a contender, so we could perhaps interpret that as a "unanimous" decision. Most flattering indeed!
The main reasons for selecting us were (1) the very small size of our DMX2dim receiver-dimmer, and (2) our very reasonable price of £499 (British Pounds Sterling). (With currency exchange rates all over the map lately, we won't be able to sustain that price. Evenso, we are certainly the most affordable system available.)
And performance of our system was excellent, as well. This was my first opportunity to personally test the CE RF configuration in Europe, where radio transmission levels must be much lower than they are in North America. Fortunately, this doesn't pose a big problem, because everybody else must use low power levels as well. This means the overall noise floor is much lower, and everything works just as well. Our stand was in a hall approximately 130 feet across on the diagonal, and the RC4Magic system worked perfectly throughout, even with every competitor system running at the same time and lots of metal structures all over the place. And our transmitter was casually placed on a waist-height shelf in our stand, no special fussing to find a good spot. This thing really works.
If you were at the ABTT Theatre Show, many thanks for visiting our booth!
